Gedo, (insidesomalia.org)-Inter clan war resumed at Luq district in Gedo region in southern Somalia.

The clashes started dusk yesterday and continued till in the mid of last night, so far the fighting has claimed the lives of 15 people.

The battle of yesterday started at Karaban village some 40km from East of Luq district.

The confrontation was between two tribes who had been living together in the area for the past centuries in harmony atmosphere.

15 people have lost their lives mostly from the two warring tribes and scores of others were wounded as Hussen Noor Gedi an elder from the area verified for insideSomalia.org

Luq district elders are generally involved on how to put off the burning fire and to mediate the tribes.

These sparsely fighting between the two tribes commenced on early April 2008 and have shortened the lives of many people and properties.

The fundamental cause of the battle between the two tribes is Salt quarry, grazing field and water catchments and that is usually the cause of inter tribes war between Somalis.
